Bound For Beijing

Kenya may be in the midst of a political crisis, but that hasn’t stopped Vincent Oundo from setting his sights on Beijing.

Vincent Oundo recently won a bronze medal in the African Canoeing and Kayaking Championships which were hosted in Kenya this year. The championships which took place between the 24th and 26th of January, was also the qualifying event for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Kenya was competing against South Africa, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Togo, Egypt, and Nigeria - all of which qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. While South Africa won most of the medals, two Kenyans also took home medals. Mr Oundo and Ms Grace Wamuranga.

Not a bad effort for a team that has found it difficult to find funding.
