Heartbeats that are hard and fast are called palpitations. The good news is that heart palpitations anxiety is often not serious. The following conditions can make the heart beat faster, stronger or more irregularly, so can be a cause of heart palpitations:
• an overactive thyroid
• low blood sugar level
• anaemia
• some types of low blood pressure
• fever
Keep track of your palpitations. Write down the time that they happen and what you were doing when they began. Give this information to your doctor. Often, heart palpitations are linked to psychological or dietary issues. One possible dietary issue that may cause heart palpitations is low vitamin B12 levels. Although heart palpitations may be startling, they may or may not be related to an abnormal heart rate and are often not serious or harmful.
